Superman

“Batman is actually Bruce Wayne. Spiderman is actually Peter Parker. When that character wakes up in the morning, he has to put on a costume to become Spiderman.  And it is in that characteristic that Superman stands alone.  Superman didn’t become Superman, he was BORN Superman…the red blanket with the ‘S’ was what he was wrapped in when he was born.  When Superman wakes up in the morning, he is Superman.”  ‘Bill’, Kill Bill vol. 2

Superman has no “props”. He needs no gadgets. If it weren’t for “fitting in”, he wouldn’t need the ‘costume’ he wears to cover his true self.

Your life would be completely different if you woke every morning knowing that you were born super and with that kind of power.

That’s my struggle and wonderings everyday. How can I be “Superwoman” for everybody else and have that feeling that I have the power. BUT when it comes to me I feel powerless. For example, I thought I was getting something mentally when in reality I wasn’t I became so frustrated and wanted to give up. This morning I woke up and instead of giving up I’m going to keep pressing forward.
“Fitting In” is dangerous it carries a lot of pressure.
Knowing that you were born super would it make your life easier or more complicated?

That’s the thing. You can’t be anything for anyone else that you can’t be for yourself. You can’t give what you don’t have.

Also remember that Superman was born into a legacy. He didn’t create himself. And neither can we. You have to know where your ‘power’ comes from, which is ironic because your specific power comes from realizing that it doesn’t come from you. Once you get that down, it does get easier.

Once again, great post! I really love a Super Hero movie when it’s well done because I think ahead to what life in the new heaven and new earth might be like. . . maybe we’ll have super powers like those someday in Christ! And for now, we’ll just have to go with the occasional healing or wonder that He does through us by His command 🙂 Praise’im!!!

PRAISE’EM!!! And you know what I realized…we have those “super powers” right now if we’re willing to tap into them. If you think about everything that Jesus did (and he did some STUFF!!) then said that we could do even greater things than he did, why don’t we have super powers right here and now!? I was saying to a friend that what we have to remember is that our application of power is SO much different than what even we would consider. Our power is in obedience, submission, faith and trust…so we’re not actually DOING anything. Isn’t that NUTS!!
